The narrative follows three Vikings named Erik, Baleog, and Olaf who are kidnapped by an alien empire and must navigate various time periods to return home. Players alternate control of the three characters, requiring them to utilize unique skills to complete levels and reach the exit. Each Viking has specific abilities, including increased speed, ranged attacks with a bow, and a shield that functions as a glider or platform. Characters possess three health points that can be depleted by enemies or falls, and levels remain unwinnable if a character is lost before the objective is met.
