The PlainEdge blade is saber ground and backed by bilateral fullers (grooves) that trim the knife's weight and reduce friction during cutting. To eliminate its reflective properties and help protect it from corrosion, it is also cloaked in a black titanium carbonitride (TiCN) coating.
