This game brought the Pokémon series into 3D, allowing players to see and battle with their teams rendered in three dimensions. Using the N64 Transfer Pak, players can import Pokémon from Pokémon Red, Blue, and Yellow versions to use in 3D battles, and can also play those Game Boy titles directly on the television. The gameplay is battle-focused, with players selecting teams of six Pokémon and choosing three for individual matches, featuring pre-determined movesets for those not transferred from the Game Boy games. The game includes structured tournaments for various skill levels, multiplayer options, and nine minigames such as Sushi-Go-Round for additional entertainment.
