A three-dimensional platforming experience where players guide Kirby through a mysterious world to rescue captured Waddle Dees. Kirby retains his signature abilities to inhale enemies and objects, gaining copy abilities that provide new actions, including the newly introduced Drill and Ranger abilities, and can utilize a “Mouthful Mode” to control large objects within the environment. Players explore stages to find and free Waddle Dees, which contribute to the growth of Waddle Dee Town and unlock minigames such as fishing and café work. The narrative centers around Kirby’s arrival in a ruined civilization, his alliance with Elfilin, and the unraveling of a plot involving the Beast Pack and a powerful entity known as Fecto Forgo, ultimately leading to a confrontation to save both Dream Land and this new world, and a subsequent rescue mission within the psychic dimension of Forgo Dreams.
