It supports multiple tape types including Type I, CrO2, and Metal, with dual DC servo motors for stable transport. The deck delivers a frequency response up to 20 Hz–19 kHz on metal tape, a signal-to-noise ratio of 74 dB with noise reduction engaged, and low wow and flutter of 0.08% with total harmonic distortion of 1.0%.

It features one record/playback head, one playback head, and one erase head, along with B and C noise reduction modes. Line input sensitivity is 100 mV and output level is 0.57 V.
