Combat strategy includes exploiting enemy weaknesses through three weapon types: punching, striking, and slashing. A detailed cooking mechanic allows food items to be combined for healing and buffs, with digestion timing playing a role in effectiveness. Additional depth is provided by side-quests, item collection, and an optional online mode where friends appear as NPCs on WiFisland, offering tips and items.
