A turn-based tactical role-playing game released for the Sega CD in 1995, structured into four sequential narrative chapters known as Books. The first two Books contain campaigns adapted from the Shining Force Gaiden series, while the remaining Books introduce original scenarios that extend the established storyline. Players engage in strategic grid-based battles interspersed with narrative sequences, managing a roster of characters who can be promoted, healed, or dismissed during downtime. Between combat encounters, the game allows players to save progress, trade weapons and items with merchants, and make tactical decisions that affect party composition. The campaign follows multiple protagonists across different regions as they navigate political conflict, recover stolen artifacts, and confront antagonistic forces tied to a central deity, with each chapter shifting perspective between different party leaders to advance the overarching plot.
