The latest entry in the long-running kart racing series, expanding the formula with several new features. The game supports up to 24 racers simultaneously, doubling the player count from earlier titles, and introduces an open-world design where players can freely drive between courses rather than being limited to menus. Alongside traditional three-lap races, it features new mechanics such as off-roading, rail grinding, wall jumping, and even boat racing segments. Grand Prix mode is restructured so racers must travel across the world map to reach each course, while a new Knockout Tour mode eliminates four players at each checkpoint during a long race until only one remains. The roster includes 50 playable characters, some with unlockable costumes earned during races, and familiar faces also appear as track obstacles. Classic courses return with reimagined layouts and day-night cycles. Battle Mode and Mirror Mode make a comeback, and a new Free Roam mode allows players to explore the world, complete missions, collect items, and take photos of their character.
