Features
A 2-channel smart line output converter designed to improve the audio signal from a factory system when adding aftermarket amplifiers. It uses DSP processing to detect, analyze, and correct factory audio treatments including crossovers, equalization, time delay, and all-pass filters, aiming for a smooth frequency response and level-matched left and right channels. The converter powers on automatically by sensing DC offset between 2.5 V and 6 V on the speaker-level inputs, or it can be triggered by a remote turn-on wire, and it provides a +12 V remote output for powering additional equipment. Frequency response correction uses EQ with Q values from 0.5 to 10 and up to ±12 dB of boost or cut, while time delay defeat operates from 0.06 mS to 10 mS with 0.06 mS accuracy. The unit can correct up to three all-pass filters on one channel with Q values from 0.5 to 3.5, and it starts in Passive Frequency Detection mode to identify the frequency bands available on each speaker input channel. During setup, the converter analyzes test tones played through the system, with three top-panel LEDs indicating low (20 Hz - 200 Hz), mid (200 Hz - 2 kHz), and high (2 kHz - 20 kHz) frequency detection for each channel.
