The beginning of Pawn America started as many great entrepreneurial feats do… as a small idea jotted down on the back of a napkin.  The vision for Pawn America was forged in 1989 when Brad Rixmann visited a local pawn shop with his father for the first time. He had never set foot in one before but was aware of the negative connotations associated with them.

After browsing their retail floor, Brad was amazed at the variety of quality items this pawn shop had available and the extremely low prices they offered. He realized that this place was an opportunity where he, and many others, could afford things traditionally out of their price range at other retail stores.
